Armenia took and is taking serious steps in the struggle against trafficking and as a result was not included in the list of specially controlled countries in the annual report by the U.S. Department of State any more. Thomas O. Melia, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of American Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor reported on this during a meeting today with RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan.

Aghvan Hovsepyan said that the Republic of Armenia joined all the international conventions in the field of the struggle against trafficking, there is an inter-governmental committee, and the law enforcement bodies carry on an active and consistent struggle.
