Yesterday, during church services in Etchmiadzin, it was announced that a new diocese would be formed for the communities of the Artik region in Armenia.

Archbishop Hovakim Manoukyan, who heads Etchmiadzin’s Department of Inter-Faith Relations, was appointed the Primate of the Artik Diocese.

Artik churches had been a part of the Shirak Diocese.
