Brussels Film Preview to Assist Armenians in Syria

More than 100 people showed up at a fund-raising movie preview in Brussels to assist Armenians in Syria.

UGC, the second largest cinema operator in Europe, provided the venue free of charge for the preview of the 2012 film Anna Karenina. The event was organized by the Armenian community in Belgium

Before the showing of the film, Reverend Father Zadig Avedikian, spiritual leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Belgium, thanked the organizers and the supporters of the solidarity initiative.

Organizers said the funds raised would be donated to Armenian humanitarian groups in Syria.

They expressed the hope that public authorities and NGOs in Belgium would also provide support to the Armenians who are particularly at risk in the Syrian conflict.
