Vardan Oskanian: "I respect the decision of my party"
Former RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian says he respects the decision of the Prosperous Armenia Party not to nominate a candidate for president in next February’s election and not to support any other candidate.
Oskanian, who recently joined the party and was touted as a possible presidential candidate himself, stated in his Facebook page that he had always said that he would have liked the party to nominate a candidate given its standing and credibility.
Oskanian writes that the party’s political board did not arrive at its decision lightly but did so after a careful analysis of the current domestic political climate and Gagik Tsarukyan’s personal decision not to run.
