Bayram Safarov, who is billed as the “Head of the Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno-Karabakh and Mayor of Shusha”, is alleged to have told reporters in Baku that: “I believe that there are still Armenians, who love the Azerbaijani people, and they must have their say in the settlement of the conflict.”

According to the Azeri Press Agency (APA), Safarov also said that: “These Armenians are ready to recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and live together with us. Simply, they know it is dangerous to publicize this position, that’s why they cannot take serious steps.”
