Istanbul Court Finds Defendants Guilty of Hate Speech against Armenians
On December 27, an Istanbul court found 6 defendants guilty for carrying a banner including hate speech against Armenians during a protest in Istanbul on February 26, 2012.
Dozens had assembled in Istanbul’s Tasksim Square to protest the 25th anniversary of what they described as the “Khojaly “massacre”.
The judge sentenced them to 5 months imprisonment, which was later commuted to a fine of roughly 1,300 Euros.
