The Turkish press report that a bomb exploded outside the United States Embassy in Ankara earlier today

Initial reports claimed that a suicide bomber was to blame. Subsequent reports say that someone entered the compound and either left or threw a package which then exploded.

Witnesses told CNN’s Turkish service that a man was seen entering the embassy grounds when the blast occurred.

Earlier, Ankara Govenor Aladdin Yuksel told the press that one security guard had been killed.
