In the following video, presidential candidate Andreas Ghoukasyan reiterates that his hunger strike has always been about protesting the candidacy of Serzh Sargsyan, whom he accuses of representing the anti-constitutional Republican Party.
Ghoukasyan states that on Election Day, February 18, the voice of the Armenian electorate will not be reflected in the vote results, and thus, Ghoukasyan says they will have no legal significance.
The candidate states that the “criminal-oligarch” regime that has entrenched itself in Armenia after independence destroys the human capital of the country and consumes it natural resources.
Ghoukasyan says that the number one guiding principle of democracy is that unconstitutional forces must not be allowed to participate in the electoral process and that the blessings of democracy must not be hijacked in order to allow criminal and fascist forces to come to power.
In conclusion, the candidate says he will continue working to establish the necessary groundwork for democracy to develop in Armenia.
