This is my report on today’s Barevolution in Yerevan’s Freedom Square. 

It is short and to the point. For I will only touch on that which is news and not a rehash of what has already been declared from the podium by any number of speakers.

Today, Raffi Hovannisian announced that on April 9, the day scheduled for the inauguration of Serzh Sargsyan, if Catholicos Garegin II attempts to swear in Sargsyan on the Constitution and the Bible, it would only happen “over my dead body”. 

Hovannisian sad this would be an act of outright sacrilege.

This elicited a chorus of “bravos” and applause from the crowd which numbered in the thousands.

Minutes later, Hovannisian declared that he would begin a hunger strike in Freedom Square since Serzh Sargsyan hadn't voluntarily recused himself from the presidency.

Hovannisian, carrying the Armenian tric-color and accompanied by his son Garin, walked to a nearby bench and sat down.

He was immediately mobbed by reporters and citizens. Hovannisian told reporters that he would pray for Sargsyan unitl Easter, March 31.

Hovannisian said that after the Constitutional Court declares its decision on his petition to nullify the February 18 presidential election results, he would launch his "action plan" to return power to the people.
