Today, at the fourth “public forum” held in Freedom Square, Sardarapat Movement speaker Jirayr Sefilyan proposed the formation of a coordinating committee to plan the future steps of the popular movement to unseat Serzh Sargsyan and the ruling Republican Party regime.

He called for the formation of regional committees as well, noting that the movement needed to maintain its presence outside Yerevan.

Sefilyan said that had he been asked, he would have advised Raffi Hovannisian not to begin a hunger strike, or as Hovannisian himself calls it, a “boycott against lies and deception.”

Nevertheless, Sefilyan said the strike had a number of positive elements to it that would come to the fore later on.

He also welcomed Raffi Hovannisian’s parents, Richard and Vartiter, who arrived today in Yerevan.

There was no mention of whether Richard Hovannisian, the noted historian, or his wife would address the crowd at this Friday’s Barevolution rally in Yerevan.
