Gyumri Gunfight: One Wounded, One Dead

Today at 1pm, shots rang out at near the “Low Prices” store located on Shirakatsi Street in Gyumri.

Initial reports say that two were wounded in the gun fight and that one later died in hospital.

One is said to be Harutyun Khachatryan, better known in Gyumri as “Kamoyakan Godfather Harout”. The deceased, Artyom Karapetyan, went by the moniker “Killer Sheko”.

The gun battle allegedly was between former Gyumri mayor Vardan Ghoukasyan, of the Republican Party, and Prosperous Armenia MP Martoun Grigoryan.
