Newspaper Editors Launch Campaign to Combat Copyright Infringement
The editors of thirteen newspapers in Armenia have announced the launch of a joint campaign to combat the illegal reproduction of their materials on various internet sites, often with no reference to the original source.
The editors argue such reproduction of material is not along a copyright violation but also causes financial damage to the already strapped print media in Armenia.
They say that it takes a mere matter of minutes for newspaper content to appear on various web pages.
The editors have expressed a willingness to make mutually suitable arrangements with internet sites that wish to use their materials in whole or in part.
