A fire, alleged to have been caused by a short-circuit, broke out at the Martiros Sarian House Museum late last night, causing damage to a number of furniture pieces on display at the house section on the first floor.

Fire-fighters arrived on the scene at midnight and declared the blaze under control twenty minutes later.
