Yerevan Streets Get New and Expanded Drainage Systems

When the spring rains come, many of Yerevan’s streets resemble flowing rivers due to the lack of sufficient flood drains and an antiquated underground drainage system.

To remedy the situation, the Yerevan Municipality, in conjunction with Yerevan Djour, is now in the process of refurbishing and expanding the drainage system underneath many of the capital’s main thoroufares and side streets.

Yerevan Djour manages the entire drainage system, which extends for 253 kilometers.

Recently, Yerevan Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan and Yerevan Djour Director Gor Grigoryan toured several streets were new drainage systems are being installed and existing ones expanded.
