Seventeen bicycle parking racks will be set up in Yerevan by the month’s end.

While bicycling around town, by for commuting and pleasure, let alone exercise, is a fairly new phenomenon in Yerevan, the number of bicyclists seen weaving in and out of traffic is slowly growing.

The Yerevan Municipality says it is collaborating with the City Promotion organization and individual cycling enthusiasts to promote this eco-friendly mode of transportation.

Today, an event to introduce bicycling to Yerevan residents will be held at Shahoumyan Square at 7pm.
