Armenian Crime Ring Defendants Plead Guilty in California
Eight people who had been charged with bank fraud and identity theft as a result of a massive police raid against the Armenian Power gang two years ago in the United States have pleaded guilty.
The Glendale News Press reports that the organized Armenian crime ring had planted credit card skimming devices that stole more than $2 million from hundreds of victims.
The eight are among seventy who were charged due to the regional crackdown in 2011.
Khachatur “Khecho” Arakelyan and Adam Davoodian, two of the defendants who pleaded guilty on Monday, lived in Glendale.
Arakelyan, who pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft, faces up to two years in prison, and Davoodian can get up to twenty years for possession of marijuana for distribution.
They are scheduled for sentencing in November.
