An Armenian woman in Glendale was arrested last Tuesday for allegedly preying on poor elderly people in a Section 8 housing scam.

Naira Shakhmurdyan was picked up by Glendale cops on charges of defrauding those who paid her money to help them get the Section 8 housing vouchers, the Glendale News-Press reports. 

Shakhmuradyan, a Van Nuys resident, is said to have provided her victims with fake Section 8 housing vouchers and collected money from each of them as a deposit upon completing a fraudulent inspection of their homes. 

She faces four felony counts of grand theft of the personal property of four victims, resulting in a loss of $13,000, according to Shiara Dávila-Morales, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney.
