Etchmiadzin Selected "Best Town" in Armenia; Rind, "Best Village"
Etchmiadzin was selected the “best” town in Armenia, and Rind (Vayots Dzor) the “best” rural community at yesterday’s “2013 Best Community” awards ceremony in Yerevan.
The contest is part of the celebrations marking the 17th anniversary of the formation of the local self-government system in Armenia.
Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Armken Gevorgyan was on hand to present the awards to the representatives of the winning communities.
The Syunik town of Goris walked away with the “Best Urban Cultural Community” , and Parakar (Armavir) took the “Best Rural Cultural Community” award.
The “Cleanest Urban Community” award was won by Jermouk (Vayots Dzor) and the “Cleanest Rural Community” award went to Lernagog (Armavir).
