Armenian Foreign Minister: 'We seek greater cooperation with Japan'

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan met today in Yerevan with Takao Makino, Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Nalbandyan stressed that Armenia would continue to strengthen cooperation with Japan, noting that President Sargsyan’s trip to Japan last year accomplished a great deal in this direction.

Vice-Minister Makino echoed Nalbandyan’s sentiments and thanked Armenia for the assistance it provided Japan after the earthquake.

FM Nalbandyan noted that cooperation between Japan and Armenia had increased in several sectors after Armenia opened an embassy in Tokyo, thus providing a strong foundation for the intensification of ties between the two countries.
