Shant Haroutyunyan, now in police custody for staging a “revolution” in the streets of Yerevan on November 5, told a representative of the Human Rights Defender’s Office that he had no complaints to file regarding his detention.

Haroutyunyan however expressed concerns that if he is transferred to a psychiatric hospital, as ordered by the courts, his safety might be in danger.

The dissident activist said he could be the target of conspiracies given his past employment in law enforcement.

The HRD representative filed a request with the Yerevan-Kentron Detention Facility, where Haroutyunyan is now being held, to immediately inform him when Haroutyunyan is transferred to a psych ward.
