Yerevan Waits for Moscow’s OK to Publish Customs Union Road-Map

The RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs not making public the road-map for Armenia's accession to the Customs Union is a grave violation of the law, Hetq reported late last year.

According to RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan, Armenia is currently in negotiations with the Eurasian Economic Commission regarding making the roadmap public.

That is, despite the fact that according to our country's legislation, that information was to have been made public, Yerevan is waiting for permission from Moscow in order to do so.

Below is the letter from the deputy foreign minister — with no comments.

Translation:

"Dear Mr. Ioannisyan,

"In response to your Jan. 6, 2014 question directed to the RA MFA, we inform you that Armenia's roadmap to joining the Customs Union was established on Dec. 24, 2013, but it is not yet subject to publication because it has been marked "for service use". Currently, negotiations are underway with the Eurasian Economic Commission regarding making the roadmap public."

The letter is dated Jan. 13, 2014, and is signed by Mr. Kocharyan.
