HAK MP Chides Parliament Speaker for Using Russian Patronym
HAK (Armenian National Congress) MP Aram Manoukyan called on deputies not to address one another in the patronymic fashion.
Manoukyan was referring to National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan addressing Robert Nazaryan (President of Armenia’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission) as “Robert Nikolayevich”.
Manoukyan, in a swipe to Armenia’s scheduled entry into the Russian-led Customs Union, commented that speaking proper Armenian is also a sacred manifestation of our independence.
The HAK MP then noted several grammatical and vocabulary mistakes frequently made by MPs and the correct forms of usage.
