March 1st Fact-Finding Group Begins Work

On Monday, November 11th, the Fact-Finding Group assigned the task to get gather pertinent data and information surrounding the post-election unrest that culminated in the deaths of ten people on the night of March 1st, convened its first working session. The Group is comprised of five individuals – the opposition is represented by Seda Safaryan (Heritage Party) and Andranik Kocharyan (ANC), and the governing coalition is represented by Robert Ayvazyan and Gevorg Tovmasyan. Vahe Stepanyan, the member nominated by Armenia’s Ombudsman, has been elected to head the Group.
