Nino Aptsiauri, Advisor to the Georgian Ambassador to Armenia, turned down a "Hetq" invitation to participate in a roundtable discussion on recent events surrounding the plight of Armenian churches in Georgia. Mr. Aptsiauri explained that he had conferred with the Ambassador and given that the Georgian government had still not officially made a statement on the matter he would have to decline the invitation. "Neither the Georgian Ministry of Culture nor the Municipality have made a statement. When they do then we'll participate," he noted.

"Hetq" had also invited Samvel Karapetyan, Director of the Armenian Architectural Research Group, and Father Vahram Melikyan of the Director of the Information Unit of the Holy See at Etchmiadzin. While Samvel Karapetyan discussed a willingness to attend, Father Vahram declined stating, "It's always the same people showing up at these discussions and nothing ever gets resolved." He added that not only were such meetings pointless but so was his participation.
