Ruben Sahakyan has headed Armenia’s version of the American Bar Association since October, 2005. Mr. Sahakyan has been a practicing lawyer since 1985. Prior to this, he was employed as an investigator at various posts within the investigative division of Armenia’s Internal Affairs Ministry. As a well-respected professional attorney, Mr. Sahakyan has participated in advocacy work in various headline-grabbing cases of the recent past, starting in 1988 with the trials following the Armenian programs in Sumgait and Baku and up to the court cases of the “Dro” group and “October 27th”
