Economic Crisis Monument Set to Rise in Yerevan
Our sources deep within the government tell us that at tomorrow's ministerial conclave Minister of the Economy Nerses Yeritsyan plans to unveil a proposal to erect a monument in the Opera Square dedicated to the present international financial crisis.
A pan-national competition for the best design will be held in which not only professional architects can participate but also budding students from Armenia and the Diaspora. A jury committee made up of intellectuals and business entrepreneurs from Armenia and The Diaspora will ultimately choose the winning entry.
It is expected that the monument will be erected by the end of the economic crisis. The minister's proposal contains no specific timeline however.
