At a press conference held today, Norayr Mouradkhanyan, Chief of the RoA Passport and Visa Department, stated that 771, 477 individuals were registered to vote in the May 31 Yerevan municipal elections. He said that individuals and organizations had until May 26 to submit voter register inaccuracies with the proper authorities. Mr. Mouradkhanyan stated that his office had only received two such written reports of inaccuracies. Patvakan Hovakimyan, an authorized representative of HAK (Armenian National Congress), made them on May 25. Mr. Mouradkhanyan said that the HAK complaint alleged that 106 registered voters were in fact deceased, that another 189 had since relocated, 34 were serving in the army and that 4 were under arrest. He said that all the inaccuracies had been corrected.
