VivaCell-MTS, a subsidiary of Mobile TeleSystems OJSC, announces the closing of the 2011 Spring Inspiration project embracing culture houses and arts and crafts schools of Armenia. Altogether over 3,000 pupils from about 100 Houses of Culture and Schools of Arts from 10 marzes of Armenia and capital Yerevan participated in the project. The closing ceremony was hosted by Medzamor Culture House, one of the winners of the contest, which brought together about 700 pupilsand instructors from about 60 winning Houses of Culture and Schools of Arts from The marzes and Yerevan.
The event started with exhibition and walk through the best works of children exposed in the hall of Medzamor Culture House, followed by a wonderful gala-concert during which the awarding ceremony for the winners of the national contest took place. In appreciation of successful work and dedication VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian presented the winning houses of culture and art schools from each marz and Yerevan with a certificate.
“By encouraging our children to embrace art, and especially children living in Armenia’s remote regions, we preserve our self-identity by means of engaging in arts, and we pass on our heritage to the younger generation. We can’t be indifferent to the annoying fact that many young Armenians are now at the risk of gradually forgetting their heritage and culture”, - VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian noted. As a corporate citizen, we want Armenian children to embrace the whole beauty of the world and have it expressed in their works of art. Creativity and innovation – here are the pillars on which our young generation of modern artists will develop its world-outlook,” added Ralph Yirikian.
The winning educational centers of the contest received their respective prizes: computers, musical instruments, sound equipment and pieces of furniture. VivaCell-MTS supported some culture houses and art schools with getting theatre costumes as well as with renovation and improvement of the premises they are located in. VivaCell-MTS provided each educational institution with the prize based on their reported needs.
Spring Inspiration project is a continuous project and is aimed at revealing and promoting the creativity of young talents in the regions of Armenia. The vivid imagination was the theme of the contest. The artwork was judged on originality, clear expression, and reflections of cultural traditions in the work of art. Works were presented in a variety of mediums including folk and modern dance, singing, painting, needlework, acting, design, fashion, carpet-weaving, craft and photography associated with VivaCell-MTS, displaying VivaCell-MTS corporate brand logo or reflecting on how they perceive the activities of Armenia’s leading mobile operator in the frames of its Corporate responsibility projects, including sports, environment, healthcare, culture, etc.
By revealing young talents VivaCell-MTS aims at one thing – showing and proving that nowadays and forever, Armenian art will not vanish as long as it is alive under the worthy fingers of Armenian children. The moral of this project was also to stir the feeling of responsibility among the children for their school, their town, and region.
