Ministry of Environment Not Releasing “Deno Gold” Results to Kapan Community Group
It appears that the RoA Ministry of Nature Protection is deliberately stalling to provide environmental data regarding the activities of Deno Gold Mining to community representatives in Kapan.
The ecological awareness organization “Ecolur” states that on September 7, 2009, the Kapan-based community group “Ecological Safety Defense and Democratic Development “ wrote to the RoA Ministry of Nature Protection, requesting copies of the results of environmental assessments reports for Deno Gold that were conducted in 2007-2008, but that it has received no response to date.
The group’s letter to the ministry claims that Deno Gold continues to pollute large tracts of land in Kapan with exhaust and waste materials.
