Ombudsman's Constitutionality Petition Postponed Till December 1
Today, at the RoA Constitutional Court, the review of the petition of Armenian Human Rights Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan, questioning whether Article 343 of the Criminal Code in fact contradicts the Armenian Constitution, was postponed until December 1.
This year alone, two opposition journalists have been found guilty under Article 343, which provides for criminal charges against those who show disrespect towards the courts. Charges against four lawyers accused of similar violations are now under examination.
