According to rumours circulating in the town of Kapan regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Ara Poghosyan on the evening of November 16 at the underground mine operated by Deno Gold Mining, the victim was struck by an electric locomotive. The company has said that it will issue an official statement on the incident today. The victim, born in 1966, had been taken to the Kapan Medical Center from the mine site in the nearby village of Shahumyan with life threatening injuries to the body. Specialists from the National Technical Safety Center have arrived in Kapan and will issue a report as to the circumstances of the accident in a few days.
