Charentsavan Police Official Arrested in Suicide Case

Yesterday, Armenian Police attached to the Charentsavan Division, arrested A. Harutyunyan, Chief of the Charentsavan Criminal Investigations Unit, for questioning regarding the murder case of Vahan Khalafyan. The deceased, Mr. Khalafyan had been taken into custody by the Charentsavan Police Department where he later committed suicide. It is suspected that Chief Harutyunyan overstepped his professional bounds and drove Mr. Khalafyan to take his own life.
