The Ministry of Nature Protection has reported to Hetq that yesterday’s tree cutting at 27 Khandjian Street was illegal. Four elm trees, measuring 23-33 centimetres in diameter, were chopped down by Edgar Markosyan.

The culprit was fined 50,000 AMD in penalties as well as 380,000 in damages, which have been paid. Edgar Markosyan is on the payroll of the "Levon Amirkhanyan" construction company. On April 27, for other tree were cut down at the site next to the Armenian Football Federation. A high-rise building is under construction there.
