Only Half of Cases of Vulnerable Children in Aragatsotn are Known

In the period leading to International Children’s Day, the international organization World Vision opened an Aragatsotn regional office in the city of Aparan.  The office will work to develop the region and will implement programs aiming at the protection and education of children as well as healthcare and social issues. The organization will renovate schools and kindergartens in the marz.  Arman Grigoryan, a representative of the organization said that the regional office, with 5 staff members, is being financed by the World Vision office in Thailand. Gayane Danielyan, head of the department for the protection of children’s rights at the Aragatsotn Regional Adminstration said in a conversation with Hetq that there primary problem was finding out about cases of vulnerable children.  “The department has registered only about 30 percent of such cases, but if we are to be honest, at least an equal amount of them remain unknown to this day,” said Danielyan.
