On September 6, NKR President Bako Sahakyan participated in the Defense Army’s Military Council session and declared that nothing would stop the government from ensuring that the army continues to be equipped with the latest in military technology. The Karabakh head of state also stressed the importance of maintain a high degree of morale within army ranks and presented a series of project proposals including psychological, social and educational training. President Sahakyan, touching on the recent rise of Azerbaijani military violations of the ceasefire, labelled the incidents as "terrorist diversions" that threatened the stability of thr region. He noted that the best response to such provocations was a strong counter strike. "If we do not take such counter measures, instability will increase," noted President Sahakyan. He praised the Karabakh military for its high degree of military preparedness and pointed out the fact that all Azerbaijani attempted incursions had been repelled. President Sahakyan bestowed state medals to several army personnel who repelled the latest Azerbaijani incursion on September 4 in the vicinity of Djraberd.
