Police Investigator Arrested on Bribery Charge

A. Ghukasyan, Deputy Chief of the Erebuni Division of Criminal Investigations, has been charged and arrested for taking a $1,500 bribe from the father of a young boy not to proceed with a criminal investigation. It turns out that two boys had been beaten by an older man. Deputy Chief Ghukasyan, in filing his report, stated that one of the boys had assaulted the other, thus concealing the true perpetrator. Ghukasyan then demanded the bribe from the boy’s father not to proceed with the case. The corrupt investigator is being detained while the case is further investigated.
