According to RA Police statistics, crimes committed by minors are down in Armenia so far this year when compared to 2009. Petty theft is noted as the crime of choice by minors. More troubling is the rise in suicides and attempted suicides among minors in Armenia. So far this year, there have been 13 suicides and 25 attempted suicides registered. Last year, there were a total of 25 such incidents. A police spokesperson stated today that more females attempt suicide than males.
