Armenian Captains Iran's National Football Team to Victory

Tehran’s Araks newsweekly reports that an Armenian footballer has been chosen to captain Iran’s national team for the first time in thirty years after the Islamic revolution. Andranik Temouryan, an Armenian Christian, lead the national football team of the Islamic Republic of Iran to a 3-0 victory over the national team of the United Arab Emirates. Temouryan has played for the Bolton Wanderers and Fulham in the English League. He now plays for the Tractor team in Tabriz, Iran.
