Buenos Aires Mayor Hands Sargsyan Keys to the City

Buenos Aires Mayor Mauricio Macri handed the keys to the city to visiting Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan during a meeting yesterday at city hall.

The accompanying photo shows the Armenian delegation (left) across the table from representatives from the Buenos Aires municipality.

Sargsyan thanked the Buenos Aires municipality for officially recognizing the 1915 Armenian Genocide and for deciding to grant permission to build an Armenian museum in the Argentine capital.

Mayor Macri visited Yerevan in 2012 for events marking the transfer of the World Book Capital title from Buenos Aires to Yerevan.
