On Thursday, the Artsakh Defense Army (ADA) issued a statement that an Azerbaijani military unit had infiltrated the country in the Karvatchar region on Thursday.

Today, Armenian Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan reported that during a firefight with the group one of the infiltrators and an Armenian military officer were killed.

The news appeared on the Facebook page of Artzroun Hovhannisyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

In its initial communiqué, the ADA reported that its front-line units had thwarted the attempted Azerbaijani incursion and that some of the members of the infiltration group were taken into custody and others fled.
