Armenia’s Ministry of Defense reports that Azerbaijan today heavily shelled the Armenian village of Barekamavan in Tavoush Province.

The defense ministry says it responded by firing on Azerbaijani positions across the border and on artillery installations in the Azerbaijani community of Kemerli.

The ministry says that the Azerbaijani military suffered heavy losses.

No Armenian causalities were reported.

This latest incident follows a series of recent border clashes along the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact.
