Sargsyan, Aliyev Discuss Karabakh with U.S. Secretary of State at NATO Summit
The presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan met yesterday with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry at the NATO Summit in Newport, Wales, for a discussion on the current stage of the Karabakh conflict settlement process.
Armenian President Sargsyan and Azerbaijani President Aliyev presented their positions on the negotiation process to Kerry.
At the sit-down, initiated by Kerry, the U.S. Secretary of State called on the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan to find mechanisms to deflate tensions and boost confidence between them.
Praising the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group in the search for a negotiated settlement, Kerry said that greater political will was needed on both sides for such a settlement to be reached.
