New Legal Approach to Azerbaijani Cross Border Fire - Attempted Murder Based on Racist/Religious Motivations
In what appears to be a new legal approach to Azerbaijani cross border fire targeting Armenians, the Tavoush Provincial Office of Armenia’s Investigative Committee (recently formed as a national “super” investigative body), says it will charge Baku for the attempted murder - based on religious, racist and national motives - of a Chorotan villager whose car was hit by Azerbaijani military fire on October 2.
Chorotan is an Armenian village in Tavoush Province and lies close to the border with Azerbaijan.
A statement released by the Tavoush office states that Azerbaijani military units deliberately opened fire on the car to “deprive the driver of his life”.
