Prime Minister Puts the Brakes on Bill to Eliminate Military Conscription Postponement for Post-Grads
In response to a bill introduced today by MPs Rubik Hakobyan and Tevan Poghosyan to eliminate military conscription postponements for students seeking post-graduate education, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said such a controversial measure wasn’t merely the decision of two legislators.
Abrahamyan said that the matter required that public hearings be held with the participation of all political forces and civil society representatives so that a measured and equitable decision is reached.
