
Japanese Minister Expresses Condolences Regarding Gyumri Tragedy
At a reception today in Yerevan for Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Minoru Kiuchi, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stressed that relations between the two countries have developed dynamically in recent years.
Sargsyan and Kiuchi emphasized the importance of the recent opening of Japan’s embassy in Armenia, noting that this would greatly spur the future growth of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
President Sargsyan said that he warmly remembers his trip to Japan in 2012 and the high-level agreements achieved while there.
Minister Kiuchi conveyed the condolences of the Japanese government regarding the tragic killings that took place in Gyumri last week.
