Armenian school kids won’t be traveling to Baku to participate in the 47th International Chemistry Olympiad scheduled for July 20-29 due to safety issues, according to a statement released by Armenia’s Ministry of Science and Education.

The Ministry says that the Azerbaijan failed to “manifest appropriate political will to guarantee the safety of the Armenian team of school pupils.”

In its statement, the ministry says it forcefully condemns the Baku government for continuing to spare no effort to isolate Armenia from international processes and to respond to constructive Armenian initiatives with rejectionist positions.
