Armenia Ranks 86th in 2011 Human Development Index
According to the UN’s Human Development Report released yesterday, Armenia finished 86 out of 187 countries listed.
The report includes the scores for the human development index (HDI), which measures long-term progress in three categories – life expectancy, access to knowledge and standard of living.
Armenia’s 2011 percentile score was 0.716, up from 0.714 in 2010. Armenia’s highest score was 0.719 in 2008.
Neigboring Georgia surpassed Armenia with an HDI rank of 75, while Azerbaijan and Turkey lagged behind with scores of 91 and 92 respectively.
