
President Sargsyan Participates in Ceremonies Marking 2,700th Etchmiadzin Anniversary
Participating in events marking the 2,700th anniversary of Etchmiadzin, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended the unveiling of a monument dedicated to Vazgen Sargsyan, the first defense minister of Armenia who was assassinated in October 1999 while serving as the country’s prime minister.
The monument is located at a square bearing his name near the St. Hripsime Church.
President Sargsyan then visited the construction site of a new sports complex and participated in the cornerstone laying ceremony.
