Three individuals were arrested yesterday on suspicion of embezzling funds from a grant allocated by the European Union’s Delegation Office in Armenia.

Tigran Sukiasyan, Roubina Der-Mardirosyan and Gevorg Ghazaryan are suspected to have drafted a bogus educational program under the name of the Martuni Student Council, a non-existent organization, in 2012 and 2013 to receive the grant.

The amount of the embezzled grant funds has not been specified by Armenia’s Investigative Committee in its statement.
