"Georgia Dream-Democratic Georgia" Wins Parliamentary Elections; Henzel Mkoyan Reelcted in Javakhk

According to preliminary elections results issued by Georgia’s Central Election Commission, the Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party came in first place in yesterday’s parliamentary elections with 51.39% of the vote.

Coming in second, with 25.74%, was the United National Movement. All the other 23 contenders failed to surpass the 5% threshold.

In Javakhk, Georgian Dream majoritarian candidate Henzel Mkoyan won reelection to the Georgian parliament with 66.54%, followed by United National Movement candidate Arsen Karapetyan garnering 17.4%.

Georgia Dream – Democratic Georgia was established in 2012 by billionaire businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili. It is the leading party of the Georgian Dream political coalition which won the 2012 parliamentary election.
